Can I complain about the damn NEW 52 yet?

If I can make a small comment. I have always loved the world do DC. I prided myself on know which Earth had which hero, and understood the need for the first CRISIS and ZERO HOUR. I loved the idea that the more "mature" titles were sent to VERTIGO, and accepted that certain books and stories in VERTIGO were given a "case by case" review on whether they were considered part of the main cannon.

And I have followed along faithfully. Before THE NEW 52, I thought DC had some of the best stories going on. After the events of NEW KRYPTON, I thought Superman was going to move out into directions never thought of. I had a sneeking suspicion that writers were going to finally give Lois and Clark a baby, one who survived the end of Kandor's new world (I hope someone is kicking themselves. I really do.).

I really do not like THE NEW 52. Is there a chance that the "old" universe is now further down the chain? Is there any kind of hope? You do not have to write a book for it, just giving it a number (and a number for the "old" Earth 2) would probably go a long way to all of us who miss Wally West, his wife and two kids, the marriage of Lois and Clark, Donna Troy, the T Tower, Alan Moore's origin of The Phantom Stranger (an angel cursed to walk the Earth after not taking a side in The Great Fall), the Tasmanian Devil, Bat-Mite, The Linear Men, Danny the Street, Black Alice, Cheeks the Toy Wonder, and so many others, simply wiped away.

Oh I am sure I will eventually get used to this universe, just like everyone eventually got used to the situation we were left with after the events of CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS all those years ago.

I just have a problem accepting the Flash caused a whole new group of Wizards to look after the earth, and that somehow the Phantom Stranger is Judas. How can you make your books more inviting to new readers, and then suddenly turn all Christian on us. Are we gonna get a Jewish and/or Muslim presence in THE NEW 52 as well? DC always had the best attitude towards religions via characters/books like THE SPECTRE, which took the stance that ALL religious beliefs and spiritual teachings are valid, because WE believe in them.

I cannot remember if it was Satan or another Demon who told Swamp Thing that "humans create their own hells." And many books told us readers that their was a heaven for each of us as well (except for poor Abin Sur, who thought paradise was denied him because he died on a foreign world).

I guess what I am saying is, "C'mon! I know you all are happy about this here NEW 52, but could you throw us old guys, us old readers, the ones who grew up with Clark driving a van, but came of age with Alexander Luthor taking Earth-2 Lois & Clark, and that Superboy Prime of to some paradise (or so we thought)?

Oh, and BRING BACK DANNY THE STREET! What a great headquarters for some group, huh? Gimme just a tad of credit (Brian of Omaha), if that suddenly sounds great!
